Slowing Down, Leaning in, and Noticing His Presence
This week we’re leaning into something that doesn’t always come naturally to me: listening. Not the kind of listening where you nod your head while thinking of what to say next, but the kind that slows you down and makes space for God’s voice along the way.
It’s Not Always a Moutain Top
When I think about listening, I don’t picture a mountaintop or a thunderbolt. I picture an ordinary walk, where I’m paying attention — to the steps I take, to the people I’m with, and to the quiet nudge in my spirit that reminds me I’m not walking alone.
Staying Open to New Things
This week, we’ll explore how listening is less about getting everything “right” and more about staying open. About leaning in, slowing down, and noticing the whispers that can so easily be drowned out by the noise of everyday life.
If you’ve ever felt like you can’t hear God or you wonder if He even speaks to you, this week is for you. We’ll practice what it looks like to listen along the way — in small steps, with open hearts, and with hope that His presence meets us right where we are.
How I Listen for His Whisper
For me, it often starts with carving out a little pocket of quiet. Just a few minutes with the noise turned down can change how I hear the rest of my day.
Sometimes it’s a verse or a thought that keeps circling back — and I’ve learned that when something lingers, it’s worth paying attention to.
Other times I carry a single word with me, almost like a reminder in my pocket. It anchors me when the day gets noisy and reminds me to lean in again.
Listening along the way doesn’t have to be dramatic. It’s a simple, steady practice of making space, noticing what returns, and carrying it with you as you walk.
That’s where we’re headed this week. I’d love for you to join me in slowing down, leaning in, and listening for His whispers along the way.
Pray • Share • Give
I’d love for you to walk with me this week by praying that Faith in the Fog reaches those who need it most, sharing this post with a friend who might be encouraged, or giving to help offset the initial investment in author copies so I can get the workbook into readers’ hands as soon as possible. You can find out more here.
