At age 34, I began the 14-year journey of healing from the emotional and spiritual wounds of a traumatic childhood, which led to frightening and dark places. After years of counseling and spiritual healing, I realized that true healing comes by combining psychological and Biblical truths. When I did that, my healing was more complete. I realized that my identity is not defined by the trauma I experienced. I hope my story of healing will help others uncover and resolve issues that may hold them back from their full potential. I believe that there is no “quick fix” to lifelong issues. I desire to provide hope to those who feel lost and hopeless because of childhood experiences.
The purpose of this site is to share hope and truth through poetry, essays, and blogs that will encourage and uplift the reader. I want to use my experience to bring the life-changing impact of Jesus Christ to others. I believe that my story can point others to hope, healing and peace in Christ.
I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and I am currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Apologetics program at Houston Baptist University. Prior to my retirement in 2015, I worked in Foster Care and Adoption for over 30 years, both with the State and in the private sector.
