Welcome to the Journey
This course tackles one of faith’s hardest questions:
If God is good, why does evil exist?
But this course is more than a theological study. It’s a space to ask hard questions, reflect on personal pain, and walk gently toward hope. You won’t be rushed to find answers—you’ll be invited to explore, process, and grow in the presence of God and the reality of suffering.
You’ll encounter Scripture, philosophy, and personal stories—including my own. And through it all, you’ll be encouraged to hold your doubts, your faith, and your wounds with honesty.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
✅ Reflect on your own experience with suffering and how it has shaped your view of God
✅ Understand theological and philosophical perspectives on evil and suffering
✅ Explore faith-based strategies for building resilience and finding hope
✅ Engage in compassionate, honest conversations about the problem of evil
✅ Begin to integrate your story into a bigger story—one that holds both pain and redemption
Reflection Prompt:
Take a few quiet minutes to consider:
- What brings you to this course?
- What are you hoping to gain—not just intellectually, but spiritually or emotionally?
Activity: Personal Learning Goals (Short Quiz)
You’ll complete a brief quiz where you can share your own objectives. These won’t be graded—they’re here to help you reflect and set your intentions.
