He is my Shield and my Rock

I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 18:1-2

A great verse to begin the day!

During my childhood I often felt alone and hopeless until I remembered I had a friend named Jesus who brought me comfort and strength. The connection I had with Him continued into adulthood and sustained me through the pain of healing from years of abuse. Even though I didn’t fully understand His love for me, I loved and trusted Him to get me through those darkest days. Like the Psalmist, I can truly say, “He is my rock and my shield.”

The Lord is ever present to protect and strengthen us.
