Grab Hold of Something Sturdy

When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
Psalm 94:18

We all have times when we feel physically unsteady and we reach for something to prevent a fall. If we reach for something sturdy, we don’t fall. However, if we reach for a movable object, we’ll likely tumble to the ground.

The same is true when we are stressed, disappointed, or hurt. Our natural tendency is to reach for something familiar to make us “feel” better. However, if we grab onto an old habit or destructive behavior, chances are great that we will fall. If, on the other hand, we reach out and grab the Lord’s hand, He will lift us up.
