This verse is an open invitation for the Lord pierce our heart with truth, not just give us knowledge to process with our mind, but with our heart. In The Abolition of Man, C. S. Lewis describes “The Chest-Magnanimity-Sentiment” which, functions as the liaison between the intellect and sentiment.[1] Being that it is the chest suggests that it is the “heart” of man. It is the element that guides the choices we make.
No matter what age I feel in the moment—7, 17, or 70—He’s carried me through every one. And He still does. #FaithInTheFog #innerchild #dailyinspiration
Today’s verse is one of my favorites because the words remind me of God’s unending mercy and unconditional love. He is faithful in all things. As I sit in my chair looking out at the blue sky and hear birds chirping on my balcony, I’m reminded of God’s consistency and His promises. Yesterday is gone….
