Moses spoke these words as the Israelites stood with the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptian army behind them. As panic and anger rose among the crowd, Moses reminded them to trust God. He didn’t know how the Lord would make a way, but he trusted God’s promise.
From a practical point of view, Panic, anger, and pride never solves a problem. Instead, strong and often irrational emotions create more chaos because our rational brain can’t operate fully when emotions are in control. When emotions run the show, we generally make impulsive decisions that end badly.
Yet, when we pause, breathe and stop the spiral, our rational mind helps us wait with patience for God’s intervention. Whether He performs a miracle that saves us from certain death, or simply directs us toward a solution to a difficult situation, the Lord will keep His promises to us. He will always fight for us.
Sometimes we feel we’re alone in our battle, but today’s verse is a reminder that God is always there to fight for us.

When has God fought for you?
