This verse reminds me of the story of the prodigal son because as humans we were separated from an intimate relationship with God by the Fall. Then through Christ the relationship was restored.

The Lord didn’t wait until we were perfect to redeem us. He came while we were deep in sin. He came because He loves us beyond anything we can imagine.
