Patience is definitely not one of my strengths but is an area where I continue to grow.
In our current culture of immediate gratification, waiting with patience can be difficult. However, today’s verse presents an important correlation that often gets overlooked. Hope is linked to waiting with patience.
In context, Paul is talking about enduring the suffering in this life with patience because of the hope we have for eternal life. Patience, then, is the evidence of our hope for the glory that awaits us.
As a child, hope kept me alive. Even though I couldn’t fully comprehend God’s love for me, my hope that there was something better in store for me kept me from giving up. It’s hard to explain, but in my child like way, I waited patiently (well most of the time) for each moment with Jesus that kept that hope alive.
This morning, it’s good for me to remember that not everything happens quickly and that keeping hope in my soul is essential to my continued healing. #faithinthfog #traumarecovery #dailyinspiration #patience
