When I read Ecclesiastes 4:12 this morning I as I recalled a commercial for a local hospital. The ad begins with a voice over, “There’s always the one, you know the one who.” The subsequent scenes highlight people helping and supporting each other through difficult times. Although the ad is promoting a hospital, the idea reflects the heart of today’s verse, we are stronger together.

While it’s hard for me to reach out at times, I’m grateful that I have people in my life that are willing to stand with me and support me through good times and bad. I am glad I have friends who have loved me through the worst moments and cheered me on through the best moments.

Today’s verse is a great reminder to cultivate relationships so we know who is in our corner. Yes, God is always there, but our earthly relationships bring a tangible strength to our lives.
