And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Ephesians 6:18 NIV
After his discussion of the individual pieces of our spiritual armor, Paul ends the conversation with a call to stay alert, and keep praying. Although he doesn’t say it directly, I think he’s telling his readers to keep their spiritual armor in good repair and to equip themselves with it everyday. Prayer is another weapon we have to thwart the enemy. A consistent pattern of prayer helps us keep every other piece of armor in good shape.
