As believers, we have a personal relationship with Christ which is the foundation of being new creation.” God performs an inner spiritual transformation, making the believer a brand-new spiritual entity rather than just a repaired version of the old self.

Looking in the mirror and seeing the new creation is much different than seeing the reflection of the old creation and deciding how to cover up the flaws. We are not the same as we once were. We are not trapped by the old sin, habits, or hurts. They are gone. We can choose to live under their influence and pretend we’ve changed or we can stand, learn, and live like the new creation we are in Christ.

The transformation happens in a moment but the process of sanctification is lifelong.
