“Wait in silence” is not a phrase that comes easy to me even though I’ve experienced the blessings of waiting for the Lord and of sitting in silence with Him. I tell people all the time to spend 5 or 10 minutes in silence with the Lord every week. But I’ve been less diligent about doing so in my own life.
Today’s verse brought me back to those precious moments of just sitting in God’s presence- No music, no requests, no conversation. Just sitting and listening to Him. As I recall those experiences, I realized that may be the practice I’m missing in my current life stage.
I long for moments alone with the Lord, but haven’t made it part of my daily routine to just “be” with Him.
We are close to the season when we celebrate the birth of our savior and I can’t think of a better time to renew the practice of spending a few minutes each day to simply sitting with the Lord in silence.
