Paul often addressed concerns related to the conflict between our physical body and our spiritual existence and 2 Corinthians 4:16 is a great example.
Aging is no joke. As we get older, everything changes and with it our ability to perform at the level we once did diminishes. We move slower. Our body aches more and we have to be more intentional about exercise, eating, health awareness and management.
Yet, 2 Corinthians 4:16 gives us hope by reminding us that no matter the state of our physical body, our spirit continues to grow and is renewed “day by day.” A renewed spirit gives us the strength and courage to continue the race God has played out for us.
The condition and direction of the path is unique depending what “leg” of the marathon we are currently running, but in every case, the Lord is faithful to direct us and to equip us for success.
He will be our strength when our physical body is weak. We can always count on Him.
