Giving thanks and praise to the Lord during difficult seasons is hard, but in today’s verse, David declares his sincerity and passion for all the Lord has done in his life.

True praise requires our entire beings and cannot be underestimated in its ability to shift our perspective. As I’ve said many times, our perspective is greatly influenced by where our thoughts are focused. Granted, it’s hard to see God working in our lives when we face setbacks, delays, or detours, but if we take time to pause, change our focus to praising God simply for who He is, we begin to recall all the times God has brought us out of the darkness.

When we realize all God’s wonderful deeds in our life, we can’t help but praise Him with our whole heart. Joy replaces sorrow as our voices cannot remain silent.

I’m grateful for the amazing things God has done in my life that brought me out of the evil that surrounded me and planted me on solid ground. The joy I experience in the depths of my soul transcends description. I will praise Him with all that is me all the days of my life.
