God is our protector. I love the psalmist’s metaphor in this verse. I can visualize a giant bird enveloping me to shield me from harm. I am hidden and shielded from attacks within the safety of its wings.

God isn’t a bird or an angel, but His grace, mercy, and steadfast love shields us from attacks, hides us while He fights for us, and gives us rest to heal. The metaphor helps me understand what His protection looks like and that brings peace to my soul.
