Love is a term that has been distorted over time to the point that we’ve lost sight of its depth. Today’s verse brings us back to the source of love, Jesus Christ.

Christ lived out Agape love and told us yo follow Him. He didn’t tell us to follow our fleshly desires or to regard “love” as purely physical or emotional passions. He taught us to love like He loves: with compassion, forgiveness, patience, and wisdom. He taught us that love includes honesty and accountability. And to see beyond behavior when looking at a person who is struggling. Not excusing the behavior, but understanding it.

If you think you cannot be loved think about this, He loved us enough to die for our sins.

We can love others as Jesus loved us. And We can love ourselves because He gave us all we need and taught us how to do it. We are loved by God and nothing will ever change that.
